Estimates suggest that around 140,000 adults in Birmingham are estimated to be obese
The trends in adult prevalence of obesity are upwards, and the Foresight report predicted a significant increase in adult obesity. Amongst men over 40 attending screening clinics last year, 17% of smokers and 22% of non smokers were obese

57 children per 1,000 have long term lung function problems due to this
36 children and 30 adults per 1,000 have pollution-related asthma
1g/m3 drop in PM air pollution could reduce CVD deaths by over 100
As much as 30% of acute asthma attacks and hospitalisations are atttributable to air pollution
