Combination of the Newspaper and WebsiteThe newspaper and website is considered compulsory in the 21st century to

consume information by combining traditional media (newspaper) and advanced media (website) to gain factual information. As the newspaper limits it’s mode of address to A, B & C1 groups; with the addition of the website it gives the other classes an opportunity to participate and consume information which could feel like a sense of luxury as there is internet access in approximately 99% of the world according to internetworldstats.com so as a result increasing the newspaper’s demographic. Also with the surplus of having a website the newspaper company is able to proliferate among masses of people making the company more established and more attractive to pick up.

With the newspaper, consumers are just given the copy plus an image associated with the copy and then must try to picture it in their heads and given a chance to socially interact with other consumers among a close proximity through word of mouth. However with the addition of the website, it provides the opportunity of playing videos making it simpler for the audience to interpret information and also with the addition of poll’s and message box’s, consumers are given the chance to let the opinions be heard and not just within close proximity but around the world.

But the consumers must not feel that the newspaper and website are offering different things so to bridge the gap, making sure that the masthead is exactly the same placed at the top of the page in both newspaper and website to show superiority and also adding a set colour palette that being black, red & white. So the audience can associate the website with the newspaper and not get the idea that the newspaper and website are two different sources of information because it still provides the same information but in a different way.

The website also gives the consumers the luxury of contacting them because there is a link that navigates you to the company’s contact details for any complains or customer enquiries, this is ideal because it brings the consumers and the information provider closer and it gives the opportunity for the newspaper to better itself if any complaints arrive, they can improve their services by increasing the audience satisfaction.

Lastly, the newspaper is only accessible in certain locations however by having a website it makes it easier and more efficient to access the information source by just a click of your button, nowadays you don’t even need a laptop or a pc; if you have a phone that has internet you are easily given the luxury of visiting the company website.

Combination of the Newspaper and PosterA poster to represent it’s newspaper has become crucial and they

have the harder job because a poster has to maintain it’s quality set by the newspaper without having the luxury of adding so many words. It’s key feature is attraction.

Firstly, to receive a newspaper you must be at a stop in order to pick it up which could be time consuming if your in a rush however by using a billboard/poster the audience are able to consumer a brief amount regarding the newspaper whilst being on the go for example if consumers are driving, they wont be able to concentrate on the newspaper itself so therefore by taking a glance at the poster are educated with some information about the newspaper.

The newspaper provides factual information about events and/or situations however with the addition of a poster, it gives the newspaper a reason to focus on it’s appearance, by using an elite person according to Galtung & Ruge it manages to interest the audience making the poster and consequently the newspaper company much more attractive.

By using tabloid language such as ‘The Best Opinions Every Week’ or ‘Big Opinions, Every Day’ it makes the poster stand out because of it’s short and catchy quotes that are used making the poster come across as more attractive.

So therefore we can observe that with the combination of the newspaper with the POSTER, it enhances it’s physical appearance because if the poster is attractive, the audience would be attracted to the newspaper.

CombinationI have implemented some identical aspects throughout my

newspaper, website and poster. For example I have kept the masthead the same because it helps the audience interpret and understand that they are all connected to one company providing sources of factual information. In relation, keeping the layout similar between the newspaper and website bridges a gap between them regarding being a separate source of information, audience could recognise that the newspaper and the website are branches from one root – The Wembley Scoop

In addition, I have kept a strict colour palette throughout all of my production to ensure that the newspaper, website and poster remain organised and presentable also it allows the audience to identify the newspaper company and it helps the company to differentiate themselves from other newspaper using a strict colour palette making it more attractive and more vividly remembered by it’s demographic.

I have used similar font style and sizes across all three of my productions to ensure that the conservative fashion does not fade and also gives the audience a chance of understanding it’s serious nature for gaining factual information.

In conclusions, by combining certain aspects within my three productions I have managed to bring the three productions more closer and giving them an opportunity to relate with eachother.

SynergyBy combining the effects of a newspaper, website and poster,

more of the demographic will have access to the newspaper company itself therefore giving ‘The Wembley Scoop’ greater power because it is able to distribute itself in various aspects to a masses of audience.

Synergising the newspaper, website and poster would also help target specific consumer groups. For example, those consumers who are interested in traditional media will have access to newspaper, those who are interested in technology and/or have internet will still have access to ‘The Wembley Scoop’ via the website, those consumers who are more on the creative side would have access to the posters, and because the company is providing variety of ways the media could be presented it satisfies consumer needs.

Also being exposed to different types of media such as the newspaper, website & poster credits the newspaper company itself as being creative because it manages to publish the same factual information in various ways making the newspaper itself more appealing for the audience.

Lastly, through synergy; the newspaper brand becomes more efficient because the newspaper is updated every day in addition the website is updated every hour providing new and exclusive information to it’s consumers.
