Cook County’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant
(EECBG) Program, administered through the Department of
Environmental Control, has provided funding to over 70 Sub-
Recipients to complete a variety of projects aimed at reducing
energy use, operating cost and greenhouse gas emissions. The
EECBG funds provide County-wide economic, environmental and
social benefits.
Blue Cap energy efficiency upgrades include:
Replacing windows and
doors;
Roof repairs;
Siding repairs;
Upgrades to Heating
Venti lation and Air Conditioning units and;
Replacement of hot water
heater
These upgrades will occur in
a total of seven buildings (5
residential, instructional and
main building).
Blue Cap is a Sub-Recipient of the
EECBG program and is an
organization that is dedicated to
serving infants, children and adults
with developmental disabilities
through community-based
educational, therapeutic, vocational
and residential opportunities. Located
in Blue Island, Illinois, Blue Cap
offers a wide array of services
dedicated to achieving personal
growth and dignity for individuals
with developmental disabilities and
their families in Chicago and over 30
suburban communities.

units that serve the multi-purpose room
and office area.

installed.
