Cook County’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program, administered through the Department of Environmental Control, has provided funding to over 70 Sub- Recipients to complete a variety of projects aimed at reducing energy use, operating cost and greenhouse gas emissions. The EECBG funds provide County-wide economic, environmental and social benefits. Blue Cap energy efficiency upgrades include: Replacing windows and doors; Roof repairs; Siding repairs; Upgrades to Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning units and; Replacement of hot water heater These upgrades will occur in a total of seven buildings (5 residential, instructional and main building). Blue Cap is a Sub-Recipient of the EECBG program and is an organization that is dedicated to serving infants, children and adults with developmental disabilities through community-based educational, therapeutic, vocational and residential opportunities. Located in Blue Island, Illinois, Blue Cap offers a wide array of services dedicated to achieving personal growth and dignity for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in Chicago and over 30 suburban communities.
