Professor Michael J. Fischer – Co-FounderMichael is a co-founder, part owner and advisor to KenCast. A Computer Science Professor at Yale University since 1983, Michael specializes in cryptographic protocols and distributed systems. He held the post of Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the ACM for four years and has published over 90 papers on theoretical computer science. He has taught at MIT, Carnegie Mellon, and the University of Washington. He holds a B.S., Mathematics, University of Michigan, M.S., Applied Mathematics, University of Michigan, and a Ph.D., in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University.
Prior to founding the company, Bill spent fourteen years with GTE Corporation; five of those years as General Manager of the ImageSpan division of GTE Spacenet. Bill’s vast experience in the satellite and telecommunications industry includes a position as Vice President of Marketing at the Microband subsidiary of McDonnell- Douglas and Sales Manager at the American Satellite Corporation division of Fairchild. Bill was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Villanova University and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from New York University.
Dr. William Steele – Chairman & CEO
Dr. Eric C. Reed – Chief Operating Officer & Board MemberPrior to joining KenCast in April 2012, Eric spent 11 years at Harmonic, most recently as Manager of the NY Video Algorithms Group and was responsible for the software development of a video transcoder for broadcast and broadband applications. Eric received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, with a concentration in image and video signal processing, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He holds a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from MIT and a B.S. (Summa Cum Laude) in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University. He is recipient of a National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship.
Dr. H. Lewis Wolfgang III – President & CTO & Board MemberLewis has special interests in combinatorics and algorithms and is responsible for much of the innovative technology introduced by KenCast since he joined the team in September, 1997. Lewis received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He holds an AM and AB (Summa Cum Laude) in Mathematics, Harvard University.
KenCast currently has a lean staff of seventeen highly educated and skilled employees from all over the world. This enviable staff has earned Ph.D and Master’s degrees in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics from top programs and is rounded out by MBA’s and a JD.

Dr. Henrik Axelsson – Vice President, EngineeringHenrik joined KenCast in 2005 and is the lead on KenCast digital signage products and services. He also heads up KenCast customer support and QA teams. Henrik received his Ph.D and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology with a concentration in optimization and control theory. He holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.
Prior to taking this position in January 2007, Jim spent 12 years with PanAmSat in various roles in Sales & Marketing, Product Management, Network Engineering and Operations. His extensive background includes Business Development, Product Development, and Product Management. He received his M.B.A. from Sacred Heart University and received his B.S. in Communications/Media from State University of New York.
G. Jim Carroccia, VP – Operations
Oriel Newman – Director, Business Affairs & CommunicationsOriel joined KenCast in 2013. After several years working for a Tokyo law firm, Oriel earned an MBA in strategy and finance, and spent several successful years in Silicon Valley in business development. He has worked at Ford Motors Japan, Sony Corporation and Applied Materials and has co-founded two tech-media start ups. At KenCast, Oriel is primarily responsible for licensing and legal issues, project management and communications. He has a BA from Brandeis University, a Juris Doctorate from the Cardozo School of Law, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Richard Brand – Acting CFORichard joined KenCast in 2015. He was a founder of Deutsche Bank’s tech private placement business that was ranked number one. Richard ran the same business at Robertson Stephens and it became number one in his first year and thereafter. He serves on the Board of an area tech start up and was its Acting CFO earlier this year. At KenCast, Richard is primarily responsible for financial strategy, including relations with capital sources and the State. He has a BA from the University of Iowa, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
