How to Salvage a Wet Cell Phone
Don’t Give Up On Your Wet Cell Phone
Use the following tips
to help salvage your
phone. In many
cases, you can get
your device working
again if you follow a
few simple steps.
Remove Your Phone From the Water
• Your first step should be to remove the device from the water.
• Wipe away as much water from your phone as possible. Remove the battery and sim card, and dry behind these areas.
• Even if the phone still appears to be working, power it off.
Put the Phone in Rice
Putting the phone in a bag of uncooked rice can help to wick moisture out of the phone. Be sure to reposition the phone every half-hour or so to allow water to escape the phone. Crisped rice cereal can also work in place of uncooked rice.
Grab Some Absorbent Towels• After you remove your
phone from the bag of rice, place it on an absorbent towel.
• This will help to draw any remaining water out of the device.
