Web page addresses also are called URLs.
You can use URLs to drive visitorsfrom social media networksto content on your website.
YOU
Pick up a URL from your website by hovering cursor over a link.
See the URL for the link in the lower left corner of your browser.
While you hover cursor over link, Right click to Copy the URL (also called a Shortcut).
See the URL for the link in the lower left corner of your browser.
Go to Google’s URL Shortener at http://goo.gl, and paste your URL in
the form field. Click Shorten URL.
The shortened URL will appear to
the right with a preview of the
page to which it directs. Press
CTRL-C to copy.
Your long URL will appear in a list
to the left.
Notice that Google tracks the number of clicks for each URL.
Create a new short URL every timeyou share the same web page in a different social network.
This approach will allow you to track click-throughs for each network and learn where your content garners the most interest.
