How to Post on DigitalDoughnut.com

We welcome you to upload digital marketing related content on DigitalDoughnut.com

The following slides contain instructions for members to be able to post content on the Digital Doughnut website.

Please Note:• All content that is submitted to DigitalDoughnut.com will be reviewed by the content manager and

may be changed to suit the visual guidelines of the website• If any of the elements of your post do not show up (photos, URLs, Slideshare etc) DO NOT WORRY as

we will edit it before the post goes live• If deemed appropriate, we will make your content live, usually within 24 hours on business working

days• You may not receive a notification informing you of the content going live, but we encourage you to

check the Digital Doughnut Home Page and our Twitter account @DigitalDoughnut

How to Post – Register or Log In• In order to add a post to Digital Doughnut you need to register as a new member or if you already

have an account, simply log in.

How to Post – Submitting Content• Once you are signed in, you will see your

name at the top right hand corner.

• On the top right hand side of the page there is an orange box called ‘Engage’

• In the box there is a button called Add Post, click the link.

• The next page will be a form to submit your content.

How to Post - Text and Images1. Title

• Add the title of the blog in this area with the first letter of every word capitalised

2. Teaser• The teaser only appears on the Home Page and acts as a short summary of what

the blog is about

3. Thumbnail• The thumbnail is the image that will appear when the blog is shared on social

media *you can upload an image to this area or leave it blank

4. Keywords• Select a maximum of 8 keywords relating to the content from the drop down list • You can also type keywords and separate the words with a comma (,)

5. Main Image• Make sure you have the right to publish & share the image• To upload an image, click on the icon and select Upload/ Upload Media, choose

from your files then Send, Save & Confirm your choice• Name the image accurately before uploading it, using keywords so Google can

‘see’ it

How to Post – Features to NoteThe ‘Main Body’ is where you post the article’s content.

• If you copy and paste from a Word document or another website, the formatting will be stripped and you will have to edit the text in the Main Body box

• Headings and hyperlinks may need to be reformatted so please check the link to see if it is correct

• There is no bold function

• To insert tweets, videos or slideshares paste the Embed Code URL in the text and it will appear in the post

• If you would like to add additional images other than the ‘Main Image’ in your post, upload them via Image 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6.

How to Post - Your Saved PostOnce you have submitted your post, it will be saved and added to the queue where a member of Digital Doughnut will prepare it to go live.

Check List:❑Does your post have a title?❑Have you included a teaser?❑Have you filled in appropriate keywords (8 maximum)?❑Does the post have a main image and do you have rights to the

image?❑Do the hyperlinks work?

• If necessary, we can create a profile for you and upload content on your behalf

• To allow us to upload your content, please send us a link to the blog piece if it is already live, or send us a word document that contains all of the copy, images, hyperlinks and video URLs
