The Bank of America Commitment

We believe, very simply, that it is the actions

of individuals working together that build

strong communities... and that business has

an obligation to support those actions in the

communities it serves.

– Kenneth D. Lewis, Chairman and CEO”

Why Partner with Bank of America?

Throughout Bank of America’s history, the company has had one common purpose: to create opportunities for our customers by offering innovative and integrated financial solutions. Innovation is nothing new to us, and we take great pride in ensuring we create opportunity — opportunity for all of our customers, clients and communities, and for those who will become our customers in the future. It is this passion and dedication to our customers that has helped us become the largest consumer bank in the country.

Opportunity… and it comes with a bank ™

Today, nearly one in three home loans originated by Bank of America is for minority borrowers. And one in five loans is made to low- to moderate-income consumers. Through the integrated delivery of new products and services, such as No Fee Mortgage PLUS, Community Commitment®, and Neighborhood Champions® Protected Mortgage™, we provide better solutions at a lower cost than any other competitor, and we say ‘yes’ more often.

Consumer Real Estate and Insurance Services Group

Our Consumer Real Estate and Insurance Services Group (CRE/ISG) is comprised of nearly 12,000 associates who are dedicated to understanding the needs of low- to moderate-income consumers through the ‘voice of the customer.’ Our low- to moderate-income customers benefit from this approach because the loans we originate, the homes we protect with our insurance services, and the home equity our customers use to leverage the value of their assets have a direct impact on the lives of the customers and communities we serve.

How We’re Connected

At Bank of America, we understand that our success depends on the health and vitality of our neighborhoods. Through our charitable giving programs, we are able to direct financial and human resources to the places and people we serve, a direct reflection of our commitment to the communities and neighborhoods where we work and live.

The Bank of America Charitable Foundation

The Bank of America Charitable Foundation is one of the largest corporate philanthropic organizations in the country, and the channel through which we provide the majority of our charitable dollars.

In 2004, we announced an unprecedented $1.5 billion philanthropic goal over 10 years. This commitment finds expression through a national strategy called Neighborhood Excellence.

At its core, Neighborhood Excellence is dedicated to addressing critical issues such as affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization in local communities, and directing resources to address those priorities.

We believe the people best equipped to determine the needs of the community are the people who live there. So, through the Foundation’s structure, we provide grant making guidance to our local leadership teams across our franchise, but we rely heavily on the bank’s local leaders who partner with their communities to identify local priorities.

How We’re Connected

Bank of America Community Development Banking is in the business of building strong neighborhoods. By providing loans and investments for communities, their families and individuals, we open doors to opportunities for economic growth and vitality.

Bank of America’s Nationwide Community Development Efforts

As the largest and most productive community real estate development operator among U.S. financial institutions, we have developed and rehabilitated more than 25,000 affordable and mixed-income housing units across the country in our efforts to revitalize urban communities.

In 2005, Bank of America announced the largest economic development investment in the history of U.S. Commercial Banks. We will lend and invest $750 billion toward community economic development over the next 10 years with a focus on four key areas: affordable housing, small business and small farm ownership, consumer loans and economic development. It’s all part of our commitment to be the nation’s leader in community development and to meet the needs of low- to moderate-income communities.
