Nicki Minaj is shown to have real emotions when news reports say her long term boyfriend has cheated on her.

However her unique selling point is her image of being a Barbie doll. This was created by her record label to become an original pop star.

She is presented as a Barbie doll which gives the audience what they want a ‘Barbie doll’ type person and this personal is created by her record label.

Although this is true the idea of being in ELLE magazine without her make up and wig causes her to be more relatable to the audience.

Nicki Minaj has her own K-mart fashion line for the audience to enjoy. She has her own fashion sense but indicates that her fashion line is for comfort not her unique look.

She creates a trend of being individual and extravagant in the way her followers dress.

By appearing on pop idol people saw a ‘true side’ of her as they saw her behind the scenes of it and see how she acts normally.

5. Character and personality

As a person she has had a hard past which people will relate to and shows a human side to her. She, however is shown be a construction as her character is not real but the foundations of the hard background are and this is relatable for the audience.

She goes against ‘what people are supposed to look like’ and shows a curvy figure which people look up to but goes against the idea of thin is beautiful unlike various other pop stars.

It is important to get the right star image as many pop stars start their career as a performer and create this idea of being a pop star through a negative light. Because of this creating the right new stories and other positive media and social events means that the pop star would become a positive role model in todays society and therefore be a star who is remembered and goes down in history.

Therefore to create my Artist has the right star image as I will ensue that her unique selling point is her voice; as well as her voice being he reason she became a star. Constructing the star will be used through music having raw emotion in it. Through industry and audience, my star will be put in magazines as well as creating a good image in the media of my star. The star will go against conventions of a skinny celebrity and with her album the press will be able to find out about h past o make her more relatable to the audience.
