Rosacea is a common skin condition that occurs on the

face, especially on the cheeks and nose. The disorder is

characterized by redness and sores containing

something like pus. This condition is prolonged (chronic), looking

Types of Rosacea

Eritematotelangiektasis Rosacea is a type of rosacea with a

permanent facial redness. The patient's blood vessels may be seen

on the skin surface. The skin becomes scaly, dry and easily be

flushed.

Papulopustular rosacea. Patients with this rosacea type have

persistent redness of the face, sometimes there are bumps like

pimples (pustules).

Fimatosa Rosacea. Associated with thickening of the skin.

Ocular Rosacea. In this type, the eyes are also affected and look

red.

Causes of Rosacea Currently, the cause of rosacea is still unknown. People with white

skin who tend to be more easily flushed so it is believed to be the

person at risk of suffering from Rosacea. Other triggers, such as

climate change, exposure to excessive temperature, and sunburn.

Specific components in the diet such as caffeine, alcohol and spices,

can also cause this condition. Other triggers include stress and

anxiety. Some drugs, such as topical steroids, can cause skin irritation

which causes Rosacea. Exfoliation (peeling) with chemical,

are all used to treat acne, it can also cause Rosacea. If you are using

this medicine, it's better to reduce the dose gradually rather than stop

it immediately, to prevent a sudden reaction or burning sensation.

Main Symptoms of Rosacea Common symptoms of Rosacea are redness on the cheeks, forehead,

chin and nose, but may appear on the ears, neck, chest and head.

Redness is intermittent. Patients often experience redness and

blushing. Over time, the redness becomes permanent, and can cause

permanent skin changes. Depending on the type of Rosacea, some

blood vessels can be seen, and small pimples or pus-filled sores on

the face. In addition, plaque or patch up, swelling, and facial edema
