“Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment
to excellence, intelligent planning and focused effort” - Paul Meyer
Do you feel baffled• By hundreds of work related emails, meeting & reminders?
• Crazy To do list & that never followed work out regime, throughout the day and feel sad, at the end of day, lying on your
couch, staring at the fan, sulking heavily at not being able to do it all?
• If yes, then here’s some advice for you.
• First of all stop feeling bad for being not so productive & forgive yourself for not being able to do it all. that’s how we human
beings are.
• Some days we are more productive, some days we are less. Some days, we win all the battles and on other days,
• we give up at the very start of the day and end up hiding under the table in office, protecting ourselves & losing all battles of
that day. It’s not something which is just happening to you. It’s something which everyone, who is fighting the battle against
time, trying to be more productive, is facing every single day. So, the last thing you want to do is feel sad and demotivated.
Here are four things that you can do which can help you improvise overall productivity and can help you achieve a lot more
from the day.
• Four things to do.
– Plan your day in advance
– Wake up 2 hours early
– Eat the freaking frog
– Eat up sleep well.By Pranay Kushwaha, copyright

Plan your day in advance
• These might be the simple advices, but they kind of give you a kick start in making a difference. Sit down with a notepad or
your cell phone or your laptop, whichever you are most comfortable with and whichever is most convenient for you to carry
and access throughout the day. Write down things to do for that particular day, along with time at which it is to be done.
• Start with things like, Wake up at a particular time, go for jog etc., and define their time limit. Every task should have an
estimated time for completion and a priority, just in case you woke up late; you need to focus only on high priorities. Plan
enthusiastically, but wisely as well, keeping uncertainty in minds, keeping few hours to relax and handle certain
unprecedented tasks, which always come up at the last moment. Keep some me time, where in you can sit and introspect
and what went right and what could have been better. Introduce small breaks of ten minutes. Research says that taking
small breaks shoots up the productivity as compared to long breaks, which pulls you out from the vigor at which you intend
to work.
• Keep the plan very flexible and feel free to delete or add some tasks as you go along the day. This will keep you on your toes
for the entire day and will help you be flexible and agile in your pursuits. Include some physical activity in it to keep you
healthy and active. Coffee shouldn’t be the only thing keeping you awake, rather a healthy metabolism should be kicking in
hell lot of energy in you, which can make you go the whole hog. So, include moderate work outs in your regime, best done
in morning.

Wake up 2 hours early
• Easier said than done, Planning is just the first step. As the saying goes, it’s better to have an average idea
or plan and excellent implementation as compared to a brilliant idea or plan with average implementation.
You can plan a day full of tasks, but it takes energy and efforts to implement it. You need energy,
motivation and an urge to fight the “I don’t feel like” emotion to do it. So, you need some time to be
prepared for the day even before it starts.
• Wake up 2 hours early than you usually do. Then later, settle down for a fixed time to wake up. Include a
fifteen minute jog in the morning routine, which can kick in good metabolism in your gut, which will keep
you energetic through the day. These extra two hours will give you a heads up. You can think about
innovative ideas, finish some left over task from last night or maybe think of ways to do things efficiently.
Ideas creep in usually at those times, when we have a free mind to wander around. These two hours, will
not only keep you healthy, but will also help you in becoming an incubator of ideas, which will make your
life shoot up on productivity scale.

Eat the freaking Frog
• Don’t go by the literal meaning, Eat the frog or do the toughest task first and this will make you strong
enough to finish the left over task in minutes. It will take off the burden from your shoulder and will make
you feel like a winner. It’s always a good sign to finish the toughest task first, as it makes you look proficient
in handling tough task and helps you build a better image at work place.
• Be it the code that you have to write, or the Business meeting, that you have been planning to lead, you
take it on as a challenge and do it first. This will make you a conqueror. That 80-20 rule applies here as
well. Eighty percent of task is done in twenty percent of time. Make the first few hours of the day, as that
twenty percent time, and you will never run out of time or feel less productive at the end of day.

Eat well Sleep Well
• Well, that’s the irony; the most important aspect of productive lifestyle is sadly the most ignored part of
today’s life style.
• Eat well and sleep well is the most important aspect when one is trying to achieve a lot. Eating well means
having nutritious and light meal throughout the day. It keeps your body healthy and active. Too much of
coffee wouldn’t do as good as a combo of coffee, fruit juice & salad would do if consumed at appropriate
timings. Having a good breakfast improves metabolism and keeps you fresh the whole day.
• Having a good night sleep, during fixed hours, will take you long way. Troubled sleep pattern keeps you
lousy the whole day and hampers productivity.
