Ever WonderedHow
Wooden Swedish Clogs Are Made?
CRAFTING STARTS WITH WOODEN BOTTOMS (OR THE WOODEN SOLE)
The wood is first dried to reduce moisture – which can sometimes take months!
Moisture needs to be reduced to ensure the stability of your favorite Swedish clogs.
The planks are then shaped into different lengths according to the foot size.
MAKING THE LEATHER UPPERS
First, the leather is checked and inspected carefully then the uppers are clicked.
Then, the clog’s uppers are stitched with respect to the style (toffles, shoes, or sandals).
If the leather is clicked for wooden Swedish sandals, then straps and buckles are attached to it.
BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER: A PERFECT PAIR OF WOODEN SWEDISH CLOGS
A perfect pair of clogs is first dyed (black or brown) if felt necessary.
Then the upper and the wooden sole are either stitched or nailed together.
They are then immediately lasted while the leather is still flexible and moist.
BENEFITS FROM WEARING PERFECTLY CRAFTED CLOGS
With amazing lower back support, you’ll be able to run around in them all day.
The wooden sole is shaped in a way that allows equal distribution of weight across your feet.
The leather upper adjusts to the shape of your feet and lets your feet breathe.
