#3 - BE THE BEST TEAM PLAYER

• Participate in group meetings and planning sessions. Don't be afraid to speak up and give your thoughts during group sessions or office meetings. Offering your thoughts will keep you an active helper in the decision-making process and show you have an interest in the team.

• Also Be reliable. Part of being a vital member of a work team is being reliable and someone that others can count on. Show up to work on time and meet deadlines consistently. Reliable and consistent performance will earn favor with your boss and camaraderie from teammates.

• Get to know your coworkers. Knowing a little bit about your coworkers will keep your team familiar with you, help you to be friendly with each other and enable you to help each other out. For example, if you know a coworker has to leave early to attend a child's soccer game, you can help out by staying later to cover his shift or help finish a project.

#4 – RESPECT YOUR COWORKERS AND YOURSELF

• Respect your coworkers. Don't gossip or make fun of coworkers. Coworkers won't trust the office gossip or want someone on their team that mocks them behind their backs. Treat them with respect by being polite, not interrupting them and avoiding office gossip.

• Solve problems. Part of being a team player is doing your part to help deal with problems and difficult situations. Instead of passing a problematic issue off to someone else, do what you can to support coworkers and find a solution to the problem.
