Partnering with clients for excellence

• Non conformity signifies ineffectiveness in the process or management system as a whole.

• It is in the client’s business interests to detect such anomalies and prevent their recurrence.

• Effective closure of non conformance is an enabler for excellence for our customer.• Generic management system reporting has stopped to add value to customers.• One of BSIs core value is Integrity and hence it is imperative we report the findings as is.

Non Conformity Identification and Reporting

• It is vital for our brand image and level of service provided to Global accounts that we achieve a level of consistency globally in the identification of nonconformities, and in the reporting of them.

• We have two categories of non-conformity in BSI these are defined as:• • Minor Nonconformity – a single identified lapse or minor omission, which would not in

itself lead to the organization’s management system failing to achieve its intended output.

• • Major Nonconformity – a breakdown or failure to fulfill one or more requirements of the management system standard to effectively control the processes for which it was intended, or a situation where nonconforming product or service would be delivered, or a situation that raises significant doubt about the ability of the organization’s management system to achieve its intended outputs.

• However nonconformities are only raised when the assessor finds objective evidence to justify the nonconformity and all nonconformities raised must reference the observed deviation with objective evidence described as well as the requirement in terms of standard or client procedure.

• The auditor shall refrain from suggesting the cause of nonconformities or their solution.07/04/2023
