As a Manager, it is important that you recognize that people are incapable of making

decisions objectively. Yourself included. People always have prejudices that cloud their

judgement. The most dangerous thing is that many times, they are not even aware of their

prejudices.

When making decisions, or convincing people, it is important to be aware that they (and

yourself) see through different lenses, coloured by experiences, beliefs and prejudices

Empathy is an important factor in emotional intelligence. Being able to connect with

people, and understand what their motivations are can help you better discern different

personalities and their motivations, as well as understand the group dynamics.

The way you argue, not just the arguments you make, can determine how effective you are.

Throughout the movie, Juror No. 8 never claimed that he knew for sure that the defendant

was not guilty. If he had taken the high-handed position of knowing it all, he would

probably never have convinced the others.

His calm nature was also key and gave him a lot of credibility within the group
