To define different type of learning methods used in Organization
To discuss how the methods are applied in Organizations
1. Classical Conditioning
2. Operant Conditioning
3. Social Learning
Classical conditioning is passive
It is elicited in response to a specific , identifiable event
# Compliment of boss to employee for a good job.

Positive Punishment
• Positive punishment weakens
a response through the application
of an unpleasant stimulus.
It can be applied through:
Insulting
Overtime work
Extra duty
Negative Punishment
Schedules of Reinforcement means frequency and timing of reinforcement following desired behavior.
1.Continues reinforcement : Behavior that is reinforced every time it occurs.
2.Partial reinforcement:Behavior that is reinforced some but not all of the time.
Sometimes employees are provided special bonuses or facilities for their good performance.
3.Fixed-ratio schedule:
4.Variable-ratio schedule :
Sales people on commission are examples of individuals on such a schedule. The reward is a variable in relation to the number of calls the salesperson makes.
Provides reinforcement for a response only if a fixed time period has elapsed, overall rates of response are relatively lowPaychecks are given on a weekly, semimonthly, monthly or other predetermined time basis such as bonus on Eid ,Puja ,Christmas
etc festivals .
Time between reinforcements varies around some average rather than being Promotions and performance bonus are typically good example of this schedule .
Occurs by observing others then modeling the
behavior that lead to favorable outcomes and
avoiding behaviors that lead to punishing
consequences.
In an organization it is seen that the junior employees usually observe their boss or supervisor.
Learning through Experience:
• A person learns a specific kind of activity through experiencing and experimenting it several times in the environment.
When employees directly interact with their environment whether experimenting with new software or learning better forestry practices on site from a trained co-worker.
Feedback is any information that people receive about the consequences of their behavior.
Feedback should be:• Specific •Credible•Timely •Frequent•Relevant
360 Feedback:Performance feedback is received from a full circle of people around the employee.
Types of feedback
Feedback
Positive
CorrectiveMotivational
negative
Positive Feedback:Positive feedback usually comes from inner sources such as co-workers and other social sources.
Helpful for improving employees self image.
Corrective feedback is used to minimize conflict and avoid the awkwardness of poor performance
and correct them. Usually comes from nonsocial sources.
Motivational feedback is helpful to take the good performances of workers to the highest level.
Types of Feedback
Negative Feedback: Usually comes from outer sources such as consumer ,investors etc .Consumers’ bad comment about product is a negative feedback.
Sources of Feedback
Sources
Social SourceNon-social
Sources
When the boss gives any types of
feedback directly to the employees
then the sources is a social one.
Which is direct.
If the boss inform about any
feedback through notice board, e-
mail, over telephone etc is
nonsocial. It is indirect
Social source can cover a small
area of the whole organization but non social source can cover a wide range of area.
ABC Learning:
The ABC consists of three words :
• A: Antecedent(event preceding behavior)
• B: Behavior
• C: Consequences(after behavior)
Conclusion
From the discussion we can say that:
• Positive reinforcement is a powerful tool for modifying behavior.
• Reinforcement is a more effective tool than punishment
