The Magic Ingredients for a “Once in a Lifetime Opportunity”1. New company in it’s formulation stage.2. Great leadership.3. A part of the largest industry in the world.4. A product that benefits everybody.5. Chance to work with successful millionaires and learn from

some of the best in the industry.

All of the above were all needed to really make this that unique of an opportunity. What separates this opportunity from any other

MLM company is that this is the only company where the product (travel) is so amazing that it builds the downline for

you based on the success stories of your downline!

To now see a little bit how important it is to make this work for you with all the factors in place like they are we now can get

started on what exactly a VIP has to do to achieve the level of success desired. Know the skills and playing the part of VIP is not enough however to becoming a true VIP ( a VIP that will one day become a International Marketing Associate or beyond). More important than how many people you can recruit and sign up, is the philosophy behind the eyes of a

VIP!

44

Page 7: Leadership secrets to vip team leader

“Behind the eyes of a VIP Team Leader”

One of the most important parts to becoming a VIP is not how good your

presentations are or how many front line you can recruit, but what goes on inside your head. It’s been said that “business is never good or bad on the

outside. Only good or bad on the inside”. To develop a strong philosophy, you must be willing to accept change. You must be willing to look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that in order to change your

current situation, change must first come from within.

Becoming a VIP is all about your philosophy, your beliefs. It’s 99% mental and 1% luck. The reason why it’s 99% mental is because everything that

you will need to become VIP can be learned whether it’s through this book or through field experience. A true VIP has the mindset that once

they become VIP, they now have to look below and see who they can help become VIP as well so that they can become an Regional Marketing

Associate (RMA).

A true VIP knows that his title is only the first stepping stone up the leadership chain and that now he has just been promoted, his next mission is to now help 2 people on his team reach VIP status as well. This means

sometimes (more than not) wanting your people to succeed more than they do.

5

Page 8: Leadership secrets to vip team leader

A true VIP is always searching to find other good leaders and once found with the help of the RMA above, help nurture and develop that person into a future

VIP and company leader.A VIP must have a strong work ethic and a strong IQ (“I quit”) factor to

advance to the RMA position. They now realize that they are now part of a select few that should they just keep up what they are doing will be part of the top ½ of one percent of all the money earners in the world before long. They must also constantly remind themselves that the company is always moving

forward and constantly reminding themselves that they have to grow with the company or they will get left behind.

A true VIP knows that the real money isn’t going to be seen on a consistent basis anytime in the near future, but that they are a good many more steps closer than

the masses to achieving true wealth. They are resilient, determined, focused, driven, self-reliant, self-motivated, reliable, and trusted. They understand that they are not just building a part of a little deal, they are part of a “Master Plan”

that was set in motion the moment they first got started. The main thought of a VIP is that they will drive wherever they have to, they will

talk to whomever they have to, they will do whatever it takes to make it in the end. They must be willing to make sacrifices like no X-Box and spending time

doing things that studying their craft. The VIP is always striving for more knowledge so that they can get that edge. They will do whatever it takes to make

it to as many meetings and trainings as possible because they know that they have a unique opportunity to work with some very successful people in an

industry that thrives on helping their people become successful. To have a really strong team, VIP’s need to build a team of people who want their dreams to come true. Not only that, but you need to train them to build

their own team of dreamers. When you’re talking to someone one-on-one or at a home/hotel presentation, the essence of selling the dream is to get the person to

think, “ I can do that.” Whatever you’re telling them, you want them to see themselves as you.

66

Page 9: Leadership secrets to vip team leader

Become a Student of Human NatureMost people who are expert hunters have studied animals for years.

A good hunter has to be able to predict how an animal will react to any given situation. In recruiting, you have to understand people. You

have to know what turns them on and what turns them off.The following are 10 traits of the average person whom a VIP sits in front

of on a daily basis:1. They’re quick to jump to conclusions.2. They’re skeptical.3. They procrastinate – the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.4. They dream of success and wealth.5. They’re curious.6. They don’t think they can sell.7. They don’t like salespeople.8. They would like to be their own boss.9. They would like to have a business of their own, BUT …10. … they all doubt that they ever will or could.

You should never come on too strong when you’re trying to introduce someone to the business. When people come on too strong, they

are trying to sell something and big red warning lights start going off in the person’s head. Be enthusiastic! It’s contagious. Don’t be afraid to show your feelings – people understand and respect a

commitment.Recruiting is an all-the-time thing. It is a state of mind. You should decide

that everyone that you meet has potential until you are proven otherwise. Always remember that when you look for quantity, you

get quality, the Law of Averages says so.7

Page 10: Leadership secrets to vip team leader

The hardest part of network marketing is the first three months. This is when a lot of people get hit with the rejection rockets, depression

torpedo’s, and anything else that isn’t bolted down. This is the stage where most people work very hard yet see little results. This is also the time frame that a person who stays focused and keeps their eye on the prize also has the ability to become a VIP. Once you have become a true VIP, then it’s just a matter of time before you become Regional

Marketing Associate, etc…The only thing holding you back is energy, or rather the lack of it. If once

you become a VIP, you sit back and rest on your laurels, then far less talented people will eventually pass you up because this business is all about momentum and if you don’t push hard out the gate then you

team will not be getting any bigger. If you are not getting bigger, you are getting smaller. People need to see the

organization growing so it shows them that it’s not the industry that’s slow, it’s just them.

Formula for FailureWhat happens when you don’t recruit anyone? Will you be able to build any kind of

organization? If you recruit zero and each one of them recruits zero, what have you got? Zero. Now, this may sound like a joke, but unfortunately, it’s a very real

picture of what most people do.

Work/Money Effort Chart

work/effort

money/results

time

In the beginning, everybody works hard and the results are small. As you can see though, the longer time passes and the more energy you put into your future, the less effort is involved and the more return you get. There are

people in old established companies who earn as much as $800,000 -$1,000,000 per month and go to one or two meetings a year just to say it

works because they are on the other end of the scale.

Most people quit in the beginning because they don’t realize that this is not like a job where you get paid for just showing up and having a pulse. Most

people don’t understand that just as in any small business that gets started up, the beginning is very labor intensive and the rewards may not be seen as often

as one would like. Any good VIP understands this and also lets his team know this as well so that there are no surprises.

Keep going – Don’t stop!To become a strong VIP, you must work deep and wide all the time

meaning that even when you do find a good person on each side, you must still always keep bringing people in. In the beginning of building your organization, you did 80 % recruiting and 20% managing (because you had nobody to manage) and once you build an organization of at

least a 100 active reps, you then shift to 80% managing and 20% recruiting. The moment your managing becomes 100% is when

warning bells should start going off and let you know that new blood is the life blood of any new and/or old team. Without constantly bringing

in more frontline, then your people will not have as much respect for you because they will feel that you have not gone through what they are going through and they’ll feel like you need them instead of the other way around. The minute that you find a develop a leader, you don’t

stop recruiting. A lot of people make the mistake of getting a few new people going, then stopping. They build a little team but they don’t

build an empire. There’s only one hang up with wanting to advance up the leadership chain, you don’t get to sit back and kick your feet up and watch your team grow. It’s a nasty four letter word that will scare some

of you away today –WORK!

10

Page 13: Leadership secrets to vip team leader

Now that you have the basic philosophy of a VIP, there are certain

technical skills that must be mastered to be an effective VIP and eventually become a successful RMA.

The list of basic requirements for a VIP are as follows:

1. Ability to perform 1-on-1 interviews.2. Back half of a home meeting.3. Setting up and organizing a schedule of events for team.4. Setting up and organizing the actual meetings so that all meeting

conduct is adhered to and the best environment possible is created for the presentation. (In other words –preparation.)

5. Ability to conduct effective trainings.6. Thirst for knowledge (always reading and listening to Jim Rohn)7. Become self-motivated and start to motivate team.8. Understands the “Big Picture”9. Understands the “5-Minute Call” & “Feel, felt, found”

11

Page 14: Leadership secrets to vip team leader

10. Isn’t afraid to call his people and perform “temperature checks”everyday.

11. Starts to learn how to sell an event.12. Understands the 80/20 law, can explain placement and sponsorship,

and a myriad of other misc. pieces of information.13. Is a perfect example of meeting conduct for the entire organization.14. Can perform speaker trainings.

Now I know that this may seem like a huge list of tasks that have to be covered. These are the tasks of a true VIP – will you have to know

all this stuff? Will you have to be rich?

Of course not! None of these things are “required” these are all skills that a true VIP will need to progress to the next level.

Can a VIP become a RMA without knowing some of these skills?Of coarse they can, but to progress to that of a National Marketing Associate

(NMA), you will have to know them because you will become an “eternal” VIP if you don’t master all these skills and more.

12

Page 15: Leadership secrets to vip team leader

Just as in any job, there are certain tools that are required to get the job done.

A roofer who forgets his hammer and tries to use his hands to hammer the nails will probably have a more difficult time then had he used the right tool for the job. Not just having the tools though is enough, knowing what to

have and when to use it is a whole other story!

The following is a list of the basic tools that are necessary for any true VIP’s success and advancement to RMA:

1. Business Cards

2. Lots of applications.

3. Journal

4. Required reading (can be found on the recommended book list on page 16. )

5. White board and stand.

6. Cell phone.

7. Suit (in the beginning – any suit will do)

8. Extra Jim Rohn “Building Your Network Marketing Business” CD’s to sell.

9. Extra “Your First Year in Network Marketing” books to sell.

10. Sign up for gttrends.tv in your back office.

“For things to change, you have to change.”-Jim Rohn

This chapter will probably be the chapter that most people flip through

real quick because it’s “too much” work or the person reading these words thinks there is nothing they haven’t already learned before that isn’t

in these pages. That may be so, but there will be some powerfulknowledge that will be life changing should you apply it and if you skim

through this chapter lightly you will find that …YOU CAN’T !!

The #1 center piece for self-improvement for a VIP is two words:JIM ROHN

Time and time again, when the founders of Team WIT have been asked by many a rep “What’s your secret to how you got from there to here?”

There response has always been the same…JIM ROHN

“Income seldom exceeds personal development.”“What you become directly influences what you get.”

14

Page 17: Leadership secrets to vip team leader

To make incredible money, one must put forth incredible effort. We’ve all been at that point where we have our teams all huddled up and

they are ready for their most motivating pep talk of the century and you just don’t know what to say. Your team looks to you as the leader and

with that comes some big responsibilities. You must have all the answers, even if it’s “I don’t know”. If your team knew everything that

you knew, then you’d become wealthy beyond your wildest imaginations, the problem is that your team will only do 50% what you

do. If you are still reading “Your First Year in Network Marketing” and you are a VIP, then you are way behind the curve. If you want your

team to listen to you and respect you, you must have something good to say that will inspire them and at the same time send them on their way with a smile knowing that their leader is a serious student of the game

and studies wealth. If you are a slow reader, it’s better than a no reader. As a leader, you always want to lead by example. Whatever book you are

currently reading, even if it’s one of the basics that you are just now finally starting to read, start caring it around with you everywhere you

go so that your team sees you reading and when your paycheck starts to climb and they start asking you what made the difference, you can look

at the book and they will get the message. One true sign of a serious student is one that is constantly writing in his

journal. The basic philosophy of a true VIP who is planning on eventually becoming a International Marketing Associate (IMA) is that it

will take an infinite amount of knowledge to run a team of tens of 1000’s of people and the worst thing to have happen would be to arrive at a point where your team outgrows your knowledge and thus puts you in a situation where it gets too much for you to handle and everything

that you worked so hard for collapses all around you.“It’s better to be prepared for an opportunity and never have one, then have

an opportunity and not be prepared.”-Jim Rohn

“God judges us from the inside, people don’t.”Okay, now you have a better understanding of the big picture, you are developing your philosophy, you have signed up your dog about 50 times

now, you went out and armed yourself with the complete VIP arsenal, you’ve woken up earlier and read more than you ever have, and you look

like a slob. All the other stuff won’t matter if you don’t dress the part.

This business is a lot about image – what image do you want to give off about Team WIT? Do you want people to look at you and say “If I have to work

with people like that then forget it!” or do you want them to say “You mean I might be able to work with people like that?”

One of the easiest ways to get people to want to be around you is to start to become the person that you would want to be around. Do whatever it

takes to invest in some nice clothes for your nice meetings. You will feel a lot better about yourself so you will have more confidence and when you

talk to people, instead of thinking “I hope I don’t have to take my shoes off otherwise they’ll see my white socks” you’ll be thinking “Is this guy going to

sign up now or later?”On the following page, there are a couple examples of how a true VIP should

dress. Remember, you will get out of Team WIT how you treat it. If you treat it as a hobby, you’ll get paid as a hobby. If you treat it as a $1,000,000

organization, you’ll get paid as such.

17

Page 20: Leadership secrets to vip team leader

The best way to find the latest fashion trends is to get a subscription to fashion magazines like GQ.

As far as the dress for women. No jeans or see-through shirts. Black always looks more professional, but the downside of black is that it also makes you

look like the bad guy so if you plan on wearing black, then make sure that you are the epitome of integrity (clear correlation between ones words and actions).

Remember, whenever you walk out your front door, you are a walking billboard for Team WIT and your own organization. Before you walk out the door, ask yourself “Would I want to go into business with the person whom I look like

today?”

A true VIP not only dresses right himself, but he also makes sure that his team dresses for success too because in reality, a VIP’s team is really a reflection of

himself.

18

Page 21: Leadership secrets to vip team leader

The following are some simple systems that a true VIP can apply on a

daily basis that if used long enough can have staggering results:

I. 4 Week Duplication Guideline

It might not be exactly four weeks, it may take a little longer or happen a little faster but it should be pretty close. We know it is hard to push people out of the nest but if you do all the work they will never grow, you will cripple them.First Week:

You do all the meetings and trainings for them. This accomplishes 3 things-Prove yourself, -Sign up some reps for your new rep, -Set the tone.Second Week:

-Train them how to do the meetings-Train then how to do the trainings-80% Emotion 20% Logic

19

Page 22: Leadership secrets to vip team leader

-They should now be doing the front half.Third Week:-Watch them do it-Take notes and or videotape-Be their training wheels-Give constructive criticism-Praise their strengths first-Then point out their weak points-You cover community leadership positions and save the day.Fourth Week:-They should be out doing meetings and trainings-The way you support them now is with three words, “You call me.”-Be present just to make sure they are OK-If there is no way he or she can do it don’t abandon the rep just know he or she is probably not your next star and keep digging. You’ll both benefit.

II. LeadershipFailure

Fear of criticismSNIOP: susceptible to the negative influences of other peopleCan’t think for selfMake decisions slowly and change them quicklyCasual (will become a casualty)Superstition, blame, stars, genetics etc.Don’t listen or pay attentionCan’t make changes quicklyEgoNo visionNo enthusiasm

22

Page 25: Leadership secrets to vip team leader

There is perhaps nothing more frustrating to a motivated VIP than to want to go out and have meetings set up or trainings set up and not have his/her team set anything up. Many VIP’s want to go out there and feel like they

are working, but they just don’t know what to do. The following is an example of a true VIP’s day and as you can see, it doesn’t leave very much

time to just sit around:

6:30am Wake-up7:15am Read (45 minutes)8:15am Exercise (45 minutes – 1 hour)10:00am be out the door / make calls while on errands11:00 -4:00 time for meetings/trainings/recruiting4:30 – 5:30 relax/recharge7:00 arrive at meeting (starts at 7:30pm)11:30 in bed.

The Big Success SecretTime management is one of the most important skills needed to become a true

VIP. Since time is the major investment you’ll make, you’ll have to get the maximum return for your efforts. We all have 24 hours each day, but

somehow, two people with the same apparent abilities and opportunities can get vastly different results! Think of it like cutting your grass. If you spent 60 minutes cutting your grass, you’d probably get a well groomed

lawn. But if the same 60 minutes were spread out over seven or eight days in short increments, the desired result just wouldn’t be there.

The same thing happens while trying to build your team. If you bring in one person per month for three months consecutively, you are diluting your

efforts with too much time. By the time person #3 is committed, #1 may have lost interest. It may not have looked to him like you knew what you

were talking about when you were talking about the big picture.

23

Page 26: Leadership secrets to vip team leader

What if you recruited those same people in a week? In a day? They actually get to see each other, these people get to see each other and now you have a little team cooking! By compressing your activity, you

get different results!Intensify Your Efforts

What happens when you compress gas? It explodes! By putting pressure on yourself and keeping up the momentum all the time, you’ll cause a

recruiting explosion of your own!As you look at the RMA’s and the NMA’s you’ll find that they probably

compressed more activity into tighter time frames than most other people did at the critical times of their growth. As a VIP you must

learn to concentrate, to focus, to intensify your efforts too.

There are plenty of smaller teams that work just as hard but the factor of “too much time” will dilute their efforts. If the pilot of a large jet

airliner doesn’t “get after it” within the limits of the runways and get his speed up to take off speeds, he won’t become airborne, no

2. Set a goal.3. Develop a game plan with clear steps and a deadline for attainment.

4. Use a calendar and follow it daily.5. Become a student of the business. Become an expert at what you

do.6. Don’t let up for any reason.
