In 2008, the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) selected the Chapter 11 restructuring of New Century Financial Corporation, as handled by Suzzanne Uhland and other members of an O’Melveny & Myers, LLP, team, as among the most successful cases of its kind concluded that year.

Ms. Uhland works out of the firm's San Francisco and Newport Beach, California, offices, and serves as chair of its U.S. restructuring practice. Over the course of her 20-year career, she has concentrated on bankruptcy, insolvency, restructuring, and related matters. She has also authored subject-specific publications and spoken at numerous professional conferences, including several held by TMA.

TMA is a globally focused nonprofit dedicated to furthering the professional needs of corporate renewal and turnaround professionals. The group also includes attorneys, bankers, and other financial professionals within its ranks of close to 10,000 members. With dozens of chapters in North America and worldwide, TMA provides these members with a truly international network.

The group strives to foster the highest possible standards of practice, to offer a wide range of opportunities for professional growth, and to advocate for recognition of the key role its members play in the global economy. Among its activities, TMA produces several annual conferences at venues around the world, as well as a variety of continuing education materials that are available online and through knowledge review courses.
