The increasing use of internet in India through computers and mobiles has increased the cyber crimes. Cyber crime is the latest and perhaps the most complicated problem in the cyber world nowadays.

Norton releases its Cyber Crime Report in 2010. The main finding is that cybercrime is a huge worldwide problem. The report reveals that nearly two thirds of adults globally have been a victim of some kind of cybercrime. Computer crime, or cybercrime, refers to any crime that involves a computer and a network. The computer may have been used in the commission of a crime, or it may be the target. Such crimes may threaten a nation’s security and financial health. Issues surrounding these type of crime have become high-profile.

Cyber Criminal is generally found guilty in the crimes such as pornography, cyber defamation, fraud & cheating, cyber-stalking, unauthorized control/access over computer system, e-mail spoofing and cyber terrorism.

To understand Cyber Crime better, Ahmedabad and Delhi blasts are the most recent and most talked cases to understand the cyber crimes. Criminals hacked into wi-fi systems of individuals to send terror mails in order to create the panic in the country. Moreover, referring to lack of awareness about cyber security, the ethical hacker said after the Mumbai attacks the police were looking for basic software to trace the terror email.

PCMag notes that India ranks #5 in cyber crime. The stastics says that 83% China’s youngsters have experienced cybercrime. India and Brazil stay together with 76% for the experience of cyber crime in youngsters. USA comes just behind India and Brazil with 73% in cybercrime.
