The Student

Jheymielyn D. Patam is my name. I was born on the 20th day of February, year 1997. I’m already 18 years old. I came from Javalera General Trias, Cavite and currently living at Tambo Balagbag, Indang, Cavite . I’m a third year college student at Cavite State University. I’m taking Bachelor on Secondary Education major in English.

I love music, I enjoy listening to it while doing something. I really hate Mathematics, whenever I see mathematical problems I feel like the numbers are dancing. I love eating whenever I have problems, I hate skipping meal time because I became hyper and do stupid things that can make you laugh or irritated. I’m a friendly person but others taught that I’m a “masungit type girl”. I’m also the soft-hearted kind of girl.

Educational Technology 1

Educational Technology – is a field involved in applying a complex, integrated process to analyse and solve problems in human learning.

- a field of study which is concerned with the practice of using educational methods and resources for the ultimate goal of facilitating the learning process.

- is a profession like teaching. It is made up of organized effort to implement the theory, intellectual technique, and practical application of educational technology.

- includes numerous types of media that deliver text, audio, images, animation, and streaming video, and includes technology applications and processes such as audio or video tape, satellite TV, CD-ROM, and computer-based learning, as well as local intranet/extranet and web-based learning. - Richey defined educational technology as "the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using and managing appropriate technological processes and resources".

- the focus is on effective processes to facilitate learning using technologies and understanding the impacts of technology on learners and organizations.

- as a field, educational technology emphasizes communication skills and approaches to teaching and learning through the judicious use and integration of diverse media.

- Computer is used to present instructions directly to students.- is the effective use of technological tools in learning. - As a concept, it concerns an array of tools, such as media, machines and networking hardware, as well as considering underlying theoretical perspectives for their effective application.

-“Integrating Technology into Teaching and Learning”

- putting together technology into teaching and learning so that these will become one in learner’s education.- focused on introducing, reinforcing, supplementing, and extending the knowledge and skills to learners so that they can become exemplary users of educational technology.

- ET-2 will involve a deeper understanding of the computer as well as hands-on-application of computer skills.- To infuse technology in the student-teacher training, helping learners to adapt and meet rapid and continuing technology changes in information and communication technology (ICT) environment.

- The course objectives are: To provide education in the use of technology in

instruction; To impart learning experiences in instructional

technology supported instructional planning; To acquaint students on information technology; To learn to use and evaluate computer-based

educational resources; To engage learners on practical technology; and To inculcate higher-level thinking and creativity

among students.

- the teacher steps out for being a content expert and information provider- lets the students find their own facts and information. - the teacher step in to supply data or information, ONLY when necessary.- it is focused on the creativity of the students.

Learning Through Edtech 1 and

Edtech 2

Edtech 1In Edtech 1, the students are taught on how to use or how to apply technology on their teaching strategies. It is also a field of study in which it is concerned with the practice of using educational methods and resources for the ultimate goal of facilitating the learning process. Computer is not the only instructional media that we can use to teach our student. Chalkboard, books, newspapers, and other resourceful material that aids learning are considered as Educational Technology.

Dramatized experiences is also taught on Educational Technology 1. Example of these are plays, pageants, pantomime, and tableau.

Another is the Contrived Experiences, in which the use of models, mock-up, specimens, objects, simulation, and games are taught to the students in order to deliver their lesson clearly by the help or use of these given or taught strategies.

Edtech 2In Edtech 2, application of the teaching strategies from Edtech 1 is applied on making powerpoint presentation more reliable and easy to understand. It focuses on teaching future educators to become more student centered to be able to know if their students really understand the lesson being discussed. In Edtech 2, it focuses on the use of internet or educational websites for the better learning of the student.

Here, technology and teaching is given emphasis. It gives emphasis to the creativity of the students. It also focus to the use of computer or electronic devices that can help students to understand the lesson easier and faster. Students are also taught to use internet wisely and use it on spending their leisure time on a very useful way, like reading educational facts that can help them to gain more and new knowledge.

Final Conclussion

The Student After Edtech

Nowadays, students are highly attached with technology such as computer, cellphones, tablets, and other electrical gadgets. They tend to forget the essence of learning. Instead of reading their lessons after school, they hold or visit first their gadgets and forget that they need to study first. Now that we are facing a new world, the 21st century, wherein high technology manipulated human beings, specially the students.

Others said that computers plays a big role to the new generation. So, we should not be the one being manipulated by it, WE should be the one WHO ARE GOING to MANIPULATE it.
