Pneumonia (VAP)
• To present the rationale for the change in VAP definitions
• To present the revised VAE Protocol of the NHSN
• To define Ventilator Associated Conditions (VAC), Infection-Related Ventilator-Associated Complications (IVAC) and Possible Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (PVAP)

• Are you a PHICS or PHICNA member?• Do you want your hospital to join the surveillance
program?• Can you convince your Hospital Director to allow
your hospital to share your surveillance data?• Will you want to join the workshop on VAE’s?• If the answer to all the questions above is YES,
submit your letter of intent to PHICS
