What is Orthopedics?• Orthopedics is the branch of medicine
which deals with correction of deformities appearing in the musculoskeletal system . Our musculoskeletal system is made up of bones, joins, ligaments, muscles and nerves.
Diseases Treated by Orthopedics
• Achilles Tendinitis It is a common condition
that causes pain along the back of the leg near the heel.
• Hammer Toe This condition occurs
when muscles get tighten and bends.
• Hip Dysplasia This condition is
due to abnormal formation of hip sockets and also it may happen due to a lot of environmental factors.
• Bursitis Inflammation of
bursae leads to bursitis.

It is also known as Patellofemeral Pain Syndrome. This is due to irritation in the cartilage which is present on the back of patella.
• Osgood- Schlatter DiseaseIt is due to inflammation of tendons
attached to the tibia.
• Bone SpursA bone spur is an outgrowth of bone that
can occur along the edges of a bone. It is also called an osteophyte.They also occur where muscles, ligaments, or tendons attach to the bone.
• BunionA painful swelling on the first joint of the big toe.
• Snapping hip Some changes in anatomy may leads to
Snapping Hip.• Bowed Legs It is a physical deformity marked by
bowing of the lower leg.• Tennis Elbow Inflammation of the tendons of the elbow
caused by overuse of the muscles of the forearm.
• Scoliosis It is an abnormal lateral curvature of the
spine.
• Frozen Shoulder This is the condition when the elimination
of neck tension can relieve frozen shoulder.
• Erb's palsy Erb’s palsy is a paralysis of the arm caused by injury to the upper group of the arm's main nerves.
