Problem # 1

No one really wants to understand or care about

prescription drugs & non prescription ( OTC )

medicines.

As it might be a loss of business to pharmacy or

pharmacist, rather than appreciation to follow the

laws.

Problem # 2

Easy Availability of Prescription Medicines ( Even

without prescription or with same prescription twice

or more. )

Hard to track or trace dispensing, Pharmacy Name,

Pharmacist Name, As there is lack of robust

reporting system

Problem # 3

Self Medication by patients, as they get prescription

medicines easily from nearby chemists without

prescription.

Chemists couldn’t force for prescription as he might

loose business, as others are dispensing it without

prescription.

Problem # 4

Small clinics’ wouldn’t prescribe on their letterhead,

that make prescription invalid as per laws, as anyone

can write on plain paper.

Problem # 5

Cardiac & Diabetic patients hardly go to their

physician for prescription refills to save money

They get medicines on same prescriptions over &

over

Problem # 6

No one keeps the record for dispensed prescription (

Neither Pharmacy nor Patients )

If Queried by regulators, most of the time It was

found that Pharmacist dispensed drugs without

prescription.

Overall…….!!

Laws are not capable enough for making system

transparent, traceable & fair for all.

Who found guilty, will be punished but after all if it

would be a fair deal, no one will be spared.

should be developed so that availability of resources

( System ) shouldn’t be a barrier

Based on category of user, they can have different

features on the system.

A System where

Everyone have their own accounts with unique

registration number. ( Email or Phone linked ).

A System where

Doctors can write prescriptions ,diagnosis, history,

EMR in Patient’s account & also print a physical

copy.

It would be same as letterhead copy with Doctor’s

name, Hospital Name etc.

A System where

Pharmacy or Pharmacist can retrieve Patient’s

prescriptions using their ID & dispense the same or

less quantity of medicines. ( No More ).

It will be traceable, too & also non manipulable.

A System where

Patient doesn’t need to carry a single file or piece of

paper for his/her medical records. As it is easily

accessible anytime anywhere using internet.

A System where

Each & every prescription is entitled with Patient

Name, Doctor Name, Pharmacist Name, Pharmacy

& Hospital.

Healthcare system will be robust, fully traceable &

fair for all.
