Acknowledge yours
Replace It
Instead of stopping, replace it
7 steps
Step 1: Substitute
Plan what you will do when stress occurs
Ex. Breathing exercises
Step 2: Cut Out the Trigger
If you smoke whilst drinking, don’t drink
Hide the remote
Step 3: Join Forces
Partner up and quit together
Having someone is a powerful motivator
Step 4: Surround Yourself
Don’t ditch old friends
But find new ones
Step 5: Visualize Success
Picture yourself quitting the habit
Build a new identity
Step 6: Return to Old You
You don’t have to become a new person
Return to being yourself before the habit
Step 7: Plan for Failure
Not everyone succeeds the first time
Plan to get back on track
