There are many unfortunate people in this world who have some kind of disability either by birth

or by some terrible accident. These people generally find themselves isolated from rest of the

world. They are not confident enough to go out into the world and interact with other people. But

many of the disabled people are facing their problems boldly these days with their furry

companions that take care of them physically and emotionally.

For centuries dog has played a very important role in human life. They give people a sense of

companionship that is as necessary as breathing for a happy life. In the life of many disabled

people the service dogs provide continuous assistance that is not only comforting but also

necessary for them to live a normal life. A number of people with mobility and sensory

disabilities are hiring the service dogs to take care of them.

Getting out in public is not a problem for the disables now a days as their service dogs are

allowed to escort them in any place they want to visit. There are laws that allow these service

dogs entry into various public places like restraunts, schools, trains, hospitals and even airplanes.

For the comfort and convenience of the disabled people government has enacted special laws

relating to these service dogs.

These dogs are trained in various authorized organizations and are provided with the service

animal ID card. This card is necessary for these dogs to carry in order to enter the places that are

generally restricted for humans only. Service Dog ID card is a photo ID of the dog along with the

registration that has to be attached to the collar of the dog. The service dog has to carry this card

all the time to get the rights that are not allowed to other pets. If the authorities of the public

places like restraunts want to check the registration they can confirm the same from this card.

These service dogs are great help; however there is a definite procedure to hire these dogs. Only

people with special needs can hire these assistants. The person applying to hire the dog has to

follow some steps and has to be prepared to take care of the needs of the dog. It is necessary for

the service dog and the disabled person to work like a team.

The disabled people get much more than assistance from these service dogs. With the help of

these assistance dogs, disabled people feel more independent and confident. It has been seen that

people with disabilities interact with the outside world more when they take the assistance of a

service dog. Service dogs encourage and escort their handlers into the society to live a happy life.
