INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this study is to analyze the 2nd year BS Information Technology students of St. Paul University Quezon City if they have vices and if it affect their grade in RE04 by conducting a survey to selected students.

Young people still need guidance, and the crossroads of their life like college, are one of the risky periods when they are tempted to try almost anything they have not experienced yet.

College is a time of fun, discovery of oneself and discovery of a career path. Students can enjoy college life without really hurting themselves, with the help of parents and policies that would protect young minds from themselves.

They said, “There is no best way to quit smoking.” Some smokers find it helpful to enroll in a sensation program but most of them do it on their own.

One of the important factors related to smoking behavior was the Educational level. The more highly educated a person is, the less likely they will smoke.

The problem of alcohol abuse and alcoholism are receiving increased emphasis in medical school curricula, and several professional associations are actively promoting substance abuse education.

People who continue to drink even its affecting their health, work or relationship have an alcohol use of problem. Some people just drink too much. Other depends on alcohol. Alcohol dependence is a lifelong disease that leads to many health problems.

QUALITATIVE

The researchers used qualitative method because it is concerned with describing meaning, rather than with drawing statistical inferences. Using qualitative method, the researchers will know if the students can balance their vices and studies.

PARTICIPANTS

As the researchers’ make the procedure of their survey, they’ve used Slovin’s Formula for them to know what would be the sample size that they would use. There were 30 respondents which were taken randomly from the 2nd year BS Information Technology class.

They’ve only focus on the 2nd year students of Information Technology for easier response and feedback on the said survey.

CONCLUSION Based on the researchers analysis and

interpretation, the student with or without vices still passed RE04.

The researchers came up with the precise conclusion that, it is up to the students on how they study and participate actively on their class particularly in RE04.

CONCLUSION

The researchers conclude that the students were able to balance their vices and studies because no malfunction occurs.

There is no malfunction occur. The researchers conclude that vices can’t affect the academic performance of the respondents.

RECOMMENDATION

To the Parents› That the parent be aware of the

vices of their children and try their very best to stop them from their vices and lead them to better activities of hobbies.

› That the Program Chair may conduct seminars and lectures on such topics as influences/effects of vices on their academic grade.
