– EFFECT ON PREGNANCY– A pregnant mother who is a smoker is at risk of

having spontaneous abortion and stillbirth. Cigarette smoking during pregnancy has been recognized as the single most important determinant of poor fetal growth in the developed growth.

–WORSENS OTHER DISEASES– It worsens asthma, influenza, tuberculosis and

ulcer

– IMPOTENCE– It doubles the risk of impotence to men.

– DRY SKIN – It dries the skin as it slows down the blood flow,

lessens the nutrients to the skin and the protection from skin-damaging agents. Direct exposure to cigarette smoke which contains hundreds of toxic substances can dry and irritate the skin and promote wrinkles.

–ORAL EFFECT– Smoking damages the teeth, causes bad breath,

and increases the risk of mouth infections and oral cancer.

consensus that cigarette smoking causes lung cancer, heart disease, emphysema and other serious diseases.

– Refers to exposure to tobacco smoke - not from your smoking, but from being exposed to someone else's cigarette, cigar, or pipe smoke.

– Can also be described as the material in indoor air that originates from tobacco smoke

– Also known as Second-hand Smoking (SHS) or Passive Smoking

– There are at least 250 chemicals in SHS known to be toxic, including 50 that causes cancer.

– It contains more carcinogens (cancer causing substances) than mainstream smoke.
