YOUR VOICE - Drink plenty of water, and eat foods that contain water,

such as grapes, apples, and watermelon. Water acts as a lubricant for your vocal cords and helps them handle the rigors of the constant vibrations that occur when you use your voice.

- Avoid trying to speak in noisy environments, which can strain your vocal cords. Take conversations away from the noise.

- Take a sip of water or swallow whenever you feel the urge to clear your throat. If you feel a constant need to clear your throat, visit a doctor to check for allergies, sinus issues, or acid reflux.
