• Being a little person who cannot talk, your baby can only tell you about the pain, aching or discomfort that he feels through crying. A baby gets fussier and irritable during this period. However, some babies might go through the whole process of teething without getting ill-tempered or cantankerous. Irritability or fussiness:• The mouth of a baby aches as the

tooth presses on the gums and tries to come out. With all the pain and ache, your baby might become irritable and cry all night or day. While some babies get irritable for a little period of time, others might remain crabby for a long period of time (day or weeks at the end). Kissing and cuddling your irritable baby will soothe him.

Drooling:

• Teething stimulates drooling and a baby can drool a lot while he or she is teething. A teething baby starts drooling all day, due which chaffing and rashes occur. Fasten a bib so that clothes don’t get wet and clean the mouth and chin with a soft cloth to prevent chaffing or redness

Chewing Relentlessly:

• The pressure that an emerging tooth creates on the gum can be relieved through the counter-pressure. It is to relieve themselves from this pressure that a teething baby generally bites and chews things that he or she comes into contact with.

Swelled or Sensitive Gums:• When a tooth is about to

emerge, it may cause gums to become more sensitive or swollen. Teething can cause red and swollen areas on gums and it is the gums, which often bulge when the tooth is in the process of erupting. Gently rubbing the gums with clean fingers will help to soothe them.
