- 26% out of 115 (claiming MB) answered section 3 correctly - 79% of which perform antibiotic misuse.

Conclusion The first study to measure :

-knowledge - attitude -practice of antibiotic abuse in Alexandria

The antibiotic abuse pattern was comparable to other studies ( Jordon & Cairo).

The population with medical background had similar attitude towards antibiotic self-medication in Alexandria.

The caregivers performed antibiotic abuse in the pediatric population however with a lesser extent (only 21%)

Future recommendations Antibiotic should be prescribed only by :

- physician -pharmacist Awareness campaigns : - medical population (TOT) -general population

Proper national drug disposal system.

Dispensation of exact drug quantities prescribed to patients.
