  • Rice Bran in EGYPT

Total Rice Cultivated area in Egypt is more than 1.5 Million Acers annually, giving more than 500 000 MT rice bran

  • Rice Bran is considered as one of the most nutritive ingredients of the rice crop, where about 60% of the total nutritive value of rice itself resides.

    POTENTIAL BENEFITS OF RICE BRAN

    Blood Sugar

  • The process that produces brown rice removes only the outermost layer, the hull, of the rice kernel and is the least damaging to its nutritional value.

The complete milling and polishing that converts brown rice into white rice destroys 67% of the vitamin B3, 80% of the vitamin B1, 90% of the vitamin B6, half of the manganese, half of the phosphorus, 60% of the iron, and all of the dietary fiber and essential fatty acids.

Fully milled and polished white rice is required to be "enriched" with vitamins B1, B3 and iron

    WHY NOT white rice

  • Rich in Fiber and Selenium

    ManganeseEnergy Production Plus AntioxidantProtection

Women Who Eat Whole Grains Weigh Less

Lower Cholesterol with Whole Brown Rice

Significant Cardiovascular Benefits for Postmenopausal Women

Phytonutrients with Health-Promoting Activity Equal to or Even Higher than that of Vegetables and Fruits

WHY YES Bran rice Adding Stabilized Bran to Rice

  • Lignans Protect against Heart Disease

Reduce Your Risk of Metabolic Syndrome

Brown Rice and Other Whole Grains Substantially Lower Type 2 Diabetes Risk

Fiber from Whole Grains and Fruit Protective against Breast Cancer

    Help Prevent Gallstones

Whole Grains and Fish Highly Protective against Childhood Asthma

  • Recommendation

Add Stabilized Bran to White Rice &Enjoy the taste & health benefit of BRAN RICE !!

  • However due to non stabilization of Rice Bran; it is still discarded or used as animal feed despite its high content of bioactive substances.

It All Starts with: RICE BRAN INNOVATIVE STABILIZATION

  • Rice bran was studied (projects cost more thanLE 5 M) where great part of its UNTOLD WEALTHof vitamins, minerals, bioactives were revealedand published.

These provide evidence for its potential healthactivity for alleviation of major illness symptoms;(CVD, DM type II, elevated Cholesterol levels,Anti inflammatory & Hypertension) and recently(2014) increasing brain cells mitochondrial mass.

    Current Projects

  • PorridgePlus - a food against dementia

The aim of the project is to develop a food product for elderly with the objective to promote healthy brain aging.

  • BackgroundRice bran is especially rich in bioactivecomponents showing significant biologicaleffects, such as anti-inflammatory,cholesterol-lowering, antioxidant and anti-diabetic activity. Key components areoryzanols (a mixture of ferulic acid esters oftriterpene alcohol and sterol), tocopherolsand tocotrienols.

  • AIMThe aim of the project is to develop a food product for elderly with the objective to promote healthy brain aging. The basis for the project are findings that Rice Bran Extract protects from mitochondrial dysfunction in the brain.Together with partners from Egypt, the aim of our studies is the establishment of rice bran extract as potential food supplement to prevent neurodegeneration
