Why I Wear PinkMy reason for participating in the Real Men Wear Pink event is personal. Last year, mymother was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a scary experience and it brought newinsight into my role in the healthcare field...how I can utilize my skills in the healthcaretech arena to help return patients to the center of the the care spectrum. We all have been affected by breast cancer, unfortunately. This is my opportunity tohonor breast cancer survivors, remember people we have lost, and help raise awareness. The least I can do is wear pink each day this month and help spread awareness.

About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasivebreast cancer over the course of her lifetime.

In 2014, there were more than 2.8 million women with ahistory of breast cancer in the U.S.

A woman’s risk of breast cancer approximately doubles ifshe has a first-degree relative (mother, sister, daughter)

who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
