Patient Waiting Room Education is a collection of free screensaver slides that can be used in the waiting room for any health professional to educate patients while they wait! There are 10 separate slideshows in this series each with unique content. Feel free to download the slides in Powerpoint format (for PC) and revise them to be customized for your own practice. Sun safetyThis summer, make sure you take precautions when out in the sun
Wear sunscreen even when outside for brief periods
Excess sun exposure without protection can lead to skin cancer
We have a number of older patients being treated for skin cancer who wish they had been more careful with the sun in their youth
No amount of time spent in tanning beds is safe!
Before you take any advice from

Specialist ordering bloodwork?
Have them copy us on the results!
We want to be aware of what is happening with your care elsewhere
Plus it cuts down on going for the same test twice!
Giant Hogweed!
Be on the look out for this plant, which can cause severe skin reactions
Notify the city immediately if you see any on your property
If you are exposed, wash off sap with soap and water AND avoid sunlight for 1 week

Sunscreen Info!SPF 30 is good enough to protect you from 96% of the sun’s harmful radiation
Don’t bother getting higher strengths!
Re-apply sunscreen every 2 hours, otherwise you will be at risk of burn, regardless of what SPF you use

Energy drinks and alcohol

Always be diligent about hiding all medications, cleaning products and any potential poisons that your kids can get into!
Meditation and pain
It has been shown in many studies that daily meditation significantly decreases chronic pain

Safe handling of pet food
Bacteria like salmonella can be transmitted when handling any pet food
It is important to wash your hands directly before and after handling any pet food
