U.S. had been a highest teen birthrate in the developed world, but in recent years it has been dropping rapidly. People said that it was dropping because sex education or expanded abstinence programs, but from previous research, they found that it’s not actually the main reasons.

Melissa Kearney, an associate professor of economics in U.S. believes that one of the biggest reasons why it was dropping so far is because the MTV shows called ’16 And Pregnant’. This show was showing about life of pregnant teens and what it’s look like.

Google data and twitter data were the great evidence that shows how much this MTV works in influencing teenagers who watch it.

She said that teenagers are now getting a huge influence form what they watch. It’s affect how they think, how they behave, including how they going to make life decisions. That’s why this MTV were truly impacts teenager how they think about teenage-pregnancy.
