Four Words That Change Your Life You Have Breast
Cancer
Did you know that breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women? Did you
know that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime? Did you
know that breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women? For women like
Jenn’s Cancer Blog, Cancer in my Thirties, and ihavebreastcancerblog these statistics are all too
real. At an age where these women should have been focused on enjoying life, they instead
found themselves fighting cancer. Given the diagnoses of breast cancer these young women
bravely face breast cancer with courage and determination.
The breast cancer journey starts in a different place for every patient. For some it may be the
mammogram that you just thought was routine and for others it may be the lump you found
yourself. Then the phone call comes. The call we never expect—the phone call that has the
power to completely change the course of your life. But no matter where you start, no one is
prepared to actually hear those four life-changing words: “You have breast cancer.”
For women who have been told “you have breast cancer” this phrase will change their life
forever. In one minute your life takes more than a 360-degree turn. It’s a moment where time
stands still and your body is numb with fear. Once the shock finally registers, you are flooded
with emotions that those four words create: fear, sadness, anger, frustration, anxiety, and many
more.
What’s next. The wait, the despair and feelings of isolation, and the need for physical support—
all are beyond words. You are now in a fight for your life. A fight you don’t want to be in. A
fight you have no choice in. And a new journey begins—SURVIVAL.
