Establishing an Anodyne® Therapy Practice

• Anodyne® Therapy is easy to use – you can even have nurse assistants administer patient sessions if required

• Recommended protocol for a new patient with Peripheral Neuropathy is 12 x 30-45 minute sessions with continuing 2-3 sessions per week

• Anodyne® Therapy is most effective when used as part of a total health care plan for a specific condition – combined with stretching and strengthening exercises, dynamic and static balance exercises, massage and the use of other therapeutic modalities for pain and sensory integrative techniques to put it all together

• Patients will require ongoing monitoring by their health care professional if they are using a Home System to monitor and manage changes in medication, exercises and so on

Summary of Responsive Conditions

Page 7: Establishing An Anodyne® Therapy Practice

How Soon Will Patients Feel Better?

• Some patients feel pain relief in the first treatment, while others need 6 or more treatments to feel improvement

• Generally speaking, if patients have not felt some improvement within 12 treatments, infrared therapy may not be effective for their condition

• Since Anodyne® Therapy relieves pain temporarily, chronic painful and/or circulatory conditions will require ongoing use of an Anodyne® Therapy Home System to provide long-term symptomatic relief

Normal Patient Physiological Changes

• May regain sensation in extremities• Will experience warmth during treatment – if too warm, turn the

energy setting down• Neuropathic or ischemic pain may resolve – temporary at first• Experience of tingling or burning as circulation returns to normal –

should resolve in 3 to 6 treatments – lower energy level, shorten treatment times

• Patients require less medication• Skin becomes pink with LED marks – returns to normal in a few hours• Increased clear exudate at wound site• Skin may perspire or peel and flake off allowing new skin growth• Toenails and pedal hair may grow

– Neuropathy caused by• Spinal compression or spinal stenosis (treating the wrong area)• Injury or surgery in foot/leg (scar tissue may take longer to resolve)

– Inability to measure changes because tools available too insensitive
