PLATFORM FOR THE SIMULATION

OF ARTERY

The software use for simulation of radial

artery is COMSOL.

Why using COMSOL ?

Comsol is a software containing multiphysics or cophyisics.

physiological model could easily design and Simulate.

Is a most advance model designing tool or platform which is incorporated with other fourth generation languages i.e. MATLAB, LABVIEW, SOLID WORKS etc.

STEPS TO CONSTRUCT A MODEL

Select the following in sequence: Dimension Add physics (multiphysics) Study type Suitable unit Geometry Material MeshThen finally we simulate the model by

computing.

RADIAL ARTERY ANATOMY

A major artery that follows the course ofthe radius on the ventral aspect of theforearm to the wrist, where it is felt as apulse, and enters the hand. It suppliesblood mostly to the thumb, indexfinger, and muscles of the forearm.

RADIAL ARTERY BIOPARAMETERS

With the help of ultrasound the following observations are found i.e.

Depth of radial artery === 3.5mm

Diameter of radial artery === 2.3mm

Radius of radial artery === 1.15mm

ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY

Electrical conductivity of following bioparameters found to be:

Stratum === 0.0005S⋅m−1

Epidermis === 0 .95S⋅m−1

Dermis === 0.322S⋅m−1

Muscle === 0.66S⋅m−1

Radial Artery=== 0.8S⋅m−1

It is a measure of a material's ability to conductan electric current.

RELATIVE PERMITTIVITY

It is the ratio of the permittivity of a substance to that of free space or vacuum, relative permittivity is also called dielectric constant.Relative permittivity of following bioparameters found to be :

Stratum === 1F/m Epidermis === 31.3F/m Dermis === 31.3F/m Muscle === 1F/m Radial Artery === 1F/m
