•Join with their tutors (through invitation).•See their evolution in several topics•Consult their roadmap in graphical and textual mode.•Publish clinical sessions, critical incidents reports.•Evaluate teaching•Self-evaluate learning•E-learning.•Etc.

•Review the evolution of their residents•Communicate with their residents.•Share workspaces with other tutors.•Self-evaluate teaching process•Etc.

Solution: Features for Education Units

•Publish documents of interest•Send information by e-mail and SMS.•Manage courses•Manage rotations•Reports about evaluation, teaching, learning, etc.•Automated processes

Results: Numbers speaking

•8500 registered users

•60% of active users (before < 6%)

•More than 12000 logins per month (before < 2000)

•Number of registered tutors increased 10 times

Conclusions

•Web 2.0 approach definitely improves education management.•Web 2.0 approach increases residents and tutors activity.•Web 2.0 approach makes easier to deal with heterogeneous system
