Symptoms of Depression Trouble sleeping is one of the most common signs of depression.

Insomnia or restless sleeping may compound or lead to similar symptoms during the day, such as a lack of energy and a disinterest in engaging in most activities. Individuals living with depression who do not suffer from sleeping troubles may still lose the desire to engage in activities they previously enjoyed. As depression worsens, individuals generally lose their appetites and struggle to maintain focus when attempting to complete tasks or engage with others. Depression has even resulted in memory loss.

Depression can begin to manifest in physical forms, such as aches and pains that do not go away. Those dealing with depression may also begin to suffer from elevated levels of stress, which can lead to a litany of physical ailments. Any individual who recognizes these symptoms should consider speaking with a medical or mental health professional.
