The purpose of this symposium is to educate the cardiovascular team, as well as internists, with the most clinically relevant
information regarding heart failure, arrhythmias, structural, ischemic and vascular issues.

This symposium is designed for clinicians involved in multidisciplinary cardiology care including, but not limited to cardiologists, internal medicine physicians, nurses, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
LeaRning objectiveSUpon participation in this activity, attendees will be able to:
• Recognize different approaches to reduce hospital re-admission for heart failure and arrhythmia.
• Describe a multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach to evaluate and manage atrial and ventricular arrhythmias.
• Incorporate new evidence-based guidelines for hypertension, lipid, arrhythmia and heart failure management.
• Recognize the various percutaneous and implantable circulatory support devices for management of advanced heart failure and shock.

For nurse practitionersApplication will be made to offer continuing education credit to nurses and nurse practitioners. There will also be specific pharmacology credit for nurse practitioners.

MissionThe mission of the GW Heart & Vascular Institute is to promote cardiac and vascular research, education, and community service with the goal of accelerating the pace of scientific discovery, reducing mortality and improving the quality of life of Americans with heart and vascular disease.
