Windjammer Park: Why Now?
• Windjammer Park is a resource and asset to Oak Harbor• Building the Clean Water Facility in
the park presented an opportunity to develop a long-term plan• Working to create citywide asset
for Oak Harbor• Serving as a catalyst for other
improvements in the City

History • Windjammer Park
Integration Plan (WPIP) took shape in 2016• Input from: • Community advisory
group• Public
• City Council adopted plan in mid-2016• WPIP builds off of
previous plans and existing reports

Community Feedback Incorporated in Plan• Waterfront is a resource and asset• Family-friendly elements should be prioritized• Spaces need to be flexible to maximize the number of activities• Remove the existing RV park• Views of the waterfront are important• Remove the ballfields (as long as they are replaced within Oak Harbor)

Current Phase• Initial phase of design and
construction on Windjammer Park • Partial funding is already
secured as mitigation for Clean Water Facility construction• Subsequent phases as
