Water There are no perennial river in the district.
The minor rivers originate from watersheds and empty into the reservoirs and tanks in the district.
There are 1462 minor irrigation tanks in the district irrigating 57,132 hectares of land.
The Hemavathy project which on completion is expected to irrigate 237,000 acres of land in Tumakuru district.
Power Bangalore Electricity Supply Company
Limited (BESCOM) is responsible for supply of electricity in Tumakuru.
In order to deal with the increasing population and industrialization in the area, major public investments in power generation and transmission is being introduced.
In the rural level, consistent effort to enhance biogas based projects are also being made.
Average annual consumption 1826.08 LU (Domestic) and 2456.07 LU (Industrial).

Tourism Siddaganga Mutt - Distinctive mutt in India
providing free boarding, lodging & educational facilities to about 8000 poor & orphaned Students.
Siddara Betta - Kortagere is a unique place having more than hundreds varieties of Medicinal plants.
Yediyur - Is famous for Siddalingeshwara temple. This place is also famous for Saint Veershaiva who lived in Yediyur.
Marconahalli - Is a reservoir built across the Shimsha river having facility for boat ride.
Madhugiri - Beautiful hill fort built by Vijaynagar dynasty and the place where Jain Basadis and temples are also found. This place offers to the tourists a view of historical sites. Madhugiri is also well known for its Pomegranate cultivation.
Pavagada Fort - Built by the famous Vijaynagar dynasty’s king in 1405. This fort bears the stamp of the violent battle between Tipu Sultan and British rulers.
Devarayana Durga - Is famous for Lakshmi Narashima Swami Temple.
Goravanahalli - Is famous for Mahalakshmi Temple.

Food Park An Operational Food park at Tumkur across 100 acres developed by Integrated Food Park
Private Ltd (IFPPL).
It comprises of a • Freezer room, individual quick freezing (IQF) facility, sorting and grading line, pre-
cooling facilities and banana and mango ripening chambers.
• Also included is a freezer facility for frozen foods, dry warehousing for raw and finished goods, grain silos, packaging facilities, material handling infrastructure, aseptic pulping facilities, and a steam generation unit.
