Short project descriptionShort project description

Goal: the building of a highway over the Dnipro River in Zaporizhzhia, a total length of 9.1 km.

Project contains 6 traffic junctions and 26 engineering structures:•1 cable-stayed bridge over the Dnipro River with the length of 660 m;•1-frame girder bridge with a total length of 340 meters;•17 reinforced concrete and steel and concrete platforms;•7 overpasses.

.The highway is planned to be constructed in two stages. The first stage of construction involves construction of 4 (four) starting complexes. The first starting complex is already implemented (the installation is completed and the construction of outdoor lighting of road junction №1) and is put into operation. The second starting complex is already implemented, the period of putting into operation is 3 months. The third starting complex is already implemented, the period of putting into operation is 6 months.

 It is planned within the project to build the 4th starting complex of the first stage of construction.

The 5th starting complex of the first construction stage and the second stage of construction of the highway over the Dnipro River ( the completion of construction in general) are not included in the project.

The term of the project: 2017 - 2020 years.The total estimated construction cost of phase I and II after conversion is 7,585 191.18 thousand UAH.

The total cost of the project ( the construction of the 4th starting complex of the I stage of construction): 4 991 318.994 thousand. UAH. (Funds provided from the state budget), including:Work with the adjustment of project documentation etc.: 62 908.000 thousand. UAH .;work of construction: 4928 410.994 thousand. UAH.

The problem of transport communication between the territories of the city of Zaporizhzhia is associated with a particular geographical location, due to its division by the Dnipro River into two parts: the Left Bank and Right Bank and location of the island Khortytsya (almost in the middle between the two parts of the city).Nowadays the traffic between the left and right banks of the Dnipro River in Zaporizhya is provided by two road-rail Preobrazhenskyi bridges, constructed in 1953, with one lane in each direction, as well as on the roadway of the dam of the Dnipro HYES.The current technical condition of Preobrazhensky bridges is in terrible situation. To this day they have never been capitally repaired, affecting the reduction of bearing capacity of bridges and in future it may cause industrial disaster.

The results expected from the projectThe results expected from the project

The project is designed to solve the transport problems of the city of Zaporizhzhia, namely the lack of reliable transport communication between left-bank and right-bank parts of the city and the right bank and left bank of south-eastern parts of Ukraine and solve engineering and communication problems of National Reserve "Khortytsya" considering its status, values and concepts of the island Khortytsya as a reserve.

Proposed for implementation in 2017 construction and repair works on 5 constructions will open traffic direction to the Reserve "Khortytsya" and solve the above-mentioned problem with transport communication.
