A unified front against fraud

A true partnership between industry, law enforcement and government

I want the Joint Fraud Taskforce to signal a new type of partnership - truly collaborative, driving our collective action to reduce the numbers of victims; reduce the impact of fraud; and increase the prosecution and disruption of fraudsters.

The investigation of Internal Fraud across Government

What are we doing in DWP?

• Cross Government Investigators Network (CGIN)

• investing in the professional development of staff

• supporting the Cabinet Office to develop centrally agreed standards for internal investigations

• undertaking investigations on behalf of other Departments

• develop separate terms of engagement

What does the future look like?

• In April 2016 DWP moves its Internal Investigations function to the Government Internal Audit Agency (GIAA)

• create an expert domain for internal fraud• co-ordinate the alignment of policies and

procedures• Build on DWP’s mature model for internal

investigations

• Consistency in the delivery of response• Provide consistency in the way internal fraud
