Cavner has participated in a number of human rights and environmental campaigns. During the summer of 2011, Maral Cavner served as an intern with the International Campaign for Tibet in both Washington, DC, and Dharamshala, India.

Recently, the International Campaign for Tibet released a report, titled “A Policy Alienating Tibetans,” that explains how Chinese authorities have been systematically denying Tibetans access to passports.
