About RDA

Working in W.B. and Jharkhand Working with around 20000 families through SHG Focus area of intervention:

Community institution building – SHG-Cluster-Federation, Farmers club & Water User Committee

Land and water based activity: Land development – 30’x40’ land bunding, 5% tank Irrigation infrastructure development – Seepage tank, DBI,

mLI Promotion of improved agriculture and horticulture

Livestock development – goat & Broiler poultry promotion

About the DBI Area - Jharkhand

All the villages are surrounded by series of hills and reserve forest

Area is too interior and avg. 20 km far from block head quarter

Totally extremist operational area Communication mostly by bicycle More than 95% tribal populated People dependent on rain-fed agriculture, NTFP and

wage labour Very poor irrigation and other infrastructures Huge scope of NRM base activities, livestock

development and develop as model area/panchayat

DBI – Pipe based irrigation system

Objectives: Judicious use of natural resources and surface water Increase in irrigation area Bring more fallow land under agriculture Productivity enhancement through promotion of

improved agriculture practices Ensure round the year food security and income

enhancement of Rs.10,000/ family Drudgery reduction of women by ensuring household

water supply Additional nutrition by promotion of kitchen gardening Improvement in health status by make available

drinking water

Identification and finalization of sites with technical expert & community

the community

Family based crop and credit planning, training-exposure and implementation of SRI, veg., pulses and mustard
