PIG FOREST 5 pigs are fattened at 0,7 ha.
When the pigs are 8 weeks they arrive in May,
they are finished after the acorn season in
November.
They are fed with crops from the forest and from
the strip-acers where they root their feed
themselves. Additionally they are fed with
products from the food forest and some
grains/silage from the cow farm.
PIGS We chose the Berkshire breed. The
Berkshire can cope with most conditions
and is well suited to an outdoor system. It
is a docile breed that is easy to manage.
The average slaughter weight at 6
months is about 113kg
