MUST-HAVE TOOLS FOR NOVICE BAKERS

INTRODUCTION Opera Southwest’s principal conductor, Anthony Barrese,
dedicates his life to the study of music and composition. Recently, he discovered a new passion - baking. Here are some tools which Anthony Barrese and other novice bakers must have:
1. Measuring spoons and cups - Baking is an exact science. Measurements need to be accurate, which is why sets of measuring spoons and cups is an important investment.
2. Mixing bowls - Possessing at least two very large mixing bowls is essential; it allows bakers to mix dry and wet ingredients separately.
3. A Whisk - A whisk is used to aerate cake mixtures or give them volume.
MUST-HAVE TOOLS Although food mixers are more convenient, a whisk
still comes in handy for simple whisking tasks, such as whipping cream.
4. Baking pans - Baking pans come in all shapes and sizes, but it is important to keep on hand standard-sized pans that are used in most recipes.
5. A Spatula - This tool comes in handy when skimming thick and sticky batter from the mixing bowl. Spatulas are also used to spread batter evenly onto baking pans.
