Movie has been a good companion for everyone irregardless of age. Movie have many type of genres, for example hollow, adventure, and so on. However, a genre that is always never fail to surprise me and my all-time favourite which is science fiction movie. Science fiction film is a film genre which emphasizes actual, extrapolative, or speculative science and the empirical method, interacting in a social context with the lesser emphasized, but still present, transcendentalism of magic and religion, in an attempt to reconcile man with the unknown . (Sobchack 63). Science fiction is the argument with the universe.In general, science fiction is a genre about science technology and power of imagination.To start with, in order to give audience a good science fiction movie, many techniques and technologies have been used during the taking of film. There are two movies that are still amazed me until now, which is Big Hero 6 and Lucy.These two movies have brought me to an amazing journey during the whole-time in the cinema even though they are both different in storyline, setting,turning point,and the ending.

The storyline of Big Hero 6 is about a 14-year-old robotic genius, Hiro Hamada, who has a special bond with a plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax which was created by his older brother. Inspiried by Tadashi, Hiro presents microbots that can created anything in arrangement form by imagination in order to enroll in the sameuniversity as Tadashi. However, microbots has gain the attention of the villain and that cause Tadashi’s death in the fire. This makes Hiro wants to take revenge for his brother and he team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech heroes to fight against the villain- Professor Callaghan. On the other hand, the storyline of Lucy is about a woman who named Lucy accidentally caught in a dark deal in transporting the drug named CPH4 which in kept by force in her abdomen. During the transportation, the drug was leaked and this let Lucy gains the knowledge about the world and universe and have the power to perform some superheroic action like telepathy, telekinesis and mental time travel. Lucy escaped from the captivity, and feeling helpless with her condition.In the help of well-known scientist and doctor, Professor Norman, Lucy agree to share everything she knows and pass on the knowledge.

The important difference between Big Hero 6 and Lucy is their setting .Setting of Big Hero 6 is mostly in the futuristic city of San Fransokyo- where East meets West. Even though, the whole movie scene is animated and computer-generated, but it shows the fusion characteristic of Japan and American which is mixed very well and let the audience believe that the city does exist in real world. I think this is a very big success for a movie to be able let audience to fully get into their movie. While the setting of Lucy is being taken in real life, which is totally different with Big Hero 6 that is animated. During the whole film being taken, most of the movie scene is take place at France. However, there are also some special effects in the movie which are generated in the help of computer like telekinesis and time travel.

Besides that, these two movies have a difference turning point during the film due to a specific object. In the first movie, Tadashi died in a fire that set up by the villain because of the microbots that is created by Hiro during the enrollment of university where his brother studies at. On the other hands, the drug named CPH4 that was kept inside Lucy’s abdomen was leaked and this turns Lucy to become a superhuman which knows the knowledge of all universe and have the power to perform some superheroes' actions. In both movies,these two respective objects has led the movies become more interesting and tense for the audience.

For the ending parts, these two movies end in a different way. Big hero 6 ends in a more happy and good way because the villain is defeated, Hiro has a bunch of best friends and also the most happiest thing is Baymax is able to be rebuilt even though it is destroyed during the last fight. While Lucy has an ending which cannot be determined whether it is good or bad because the whole movie does not have any villain or hero. However, the movie is showing us the value of a human being can be and don’t forget that we are the one who make who we are.

In conclusion, these two movies are different in their storyline, setting and ending, but both of them have given a good time during the whole movie, which I very enjoy watching them. They both include unrealistic in many ways. The high-tech devices that showed in Big Hero 6 is imaginative due to the current development of science nowadays. In Lucy, Lucy becomes a superhuman because of the drug’s effect and can do what human cannot do in real life like mental time travel. Both movies have shown me some valuable values which I very appreciate that and I will try my best to learn from them.
