Our Thriller OpeningA girl is walking home and is texting her friends. There is a lot of cross cutting to a man rummaging through a house looking for something. Girl then comes home at night to find that her house has been broken into. However, nothing is stolen, and it appears that somebody is looking for something specific. Little does she know that there is a man who is hiding in her house trying to download some evidence from her fathers police files. This man is a criminal who is under going prosecution for an armed robbery. The girls dad is the head of a police and is head office for this armed robbery case.

Unfortunately the daughter of the police man is in the wrong place at the wrong time and consequently nearly looses her life. She was never part of the criminals plan, he only wanted to destroy the evidence that would get him sent down. There will be a lot of cross cutting throughout our opening to add suspense and tension, this will eventually lead to the man bursting out of the door shooting princess and making off with the files. The last scene will be a P.O.V shot, from the girls eyes of the man quickly taking off out the front door with the files.

Overall Vision

The rest of the film is set two months later. The dad is the hero in the film who is trying to solve the case and have the criminal put down regardless of the key evidence that went missing. He knows who the man is that broke into his house is and is desperate to gain justice; however he has to walk the fine line of police politics and he knows the man can get away with this atrocity because the evidence mysteriously disappeared without a trace. He is also seeking revenge against the same man who shot his beloved daughter. The film offers a roller-coaster of suspense.

What clothing would you say a villain is most likely to wear in a thriller film?

76% of 100 15+ students decided that dark clothing and anything with a connotations evil would be suitable for our villain to wear. So this is what we have chosen for our villain to wear.

What age rating would you say most suits a thriller genre?

80 % of the 100 parents that we surveyed agreed that our film should be rated 15 due to the themes insinuated throughout our opening/ Film. Which are violence, crime, gang culture.

Locations & Costumes.

All the filming will take place in Police officers house at dusk.

The location will be on the streets, the hallway, and the office.

The villain will be dressed in dark clothes, as black and other similar colours are connotations of evil and malevolence.

The girl will be dressed in normal clothing.
